Mothers Day was wonderful. I got all of my blog postings retrieved and printed so now all the obsessing I did as a new mother over the minutiae of Evan’s life can be immortalized. I used my Mother Day trump card to force my guys to go my English country dancing. Then we went out to dinner at an Italian place that has the best pizzas. Unfortunately, the brick oven was broken. But then it was good because we were forced to order new dishes that were delicious. And Derrick fixed our web site so I can start posting again. Yes, a very good day.
Evan got glasses in February and he has really taken to them. They fit really well and stay great on his face. I think he’s a little vain about them. I’m glad that he’s accepting of them. There are two other kids in his kindergarten class with glasses too so that helps.
Most of February and March was spent purging and decluttering the house, making repairs to the house, and cleaning the house. I even ended up going to the ER with a lacerated finger from a freak vacuuming accident.
We ended up selling our house without a hitch which was so awesome considering how the market has been these past few years. We were on spring break in the new city checking out schools for Evan when we got the call that we got an offer and we ended up canceling our open house scheduled while we were gone.
Spring break was fun. Evan loved just going downstairs to get his breakfast with the cereal dispensers and waffle makers. He loved that it was hot enough to swim outside. He loved feeding the dolphins. He loved going to the sushi place Derrick and I used to frequent before he was born.
Things are coming to a close here so fast! And there is still so much to be done between now and when we move. We have three going away parties, plus Evan’s birthday party, and his dance performance in a real concert hall. Here are just a few photos to share until I can take a breather from moving preparations, end of the school year, and party planning. Our theme for Evan’s party is Christmas in June.
